Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase aired yesterday and packed 18 games into 15 minutes. The presentation covered both Switch 2 and the original Switch, but the newer hardware dominated the spotlight. Three games launched on the spot. Fifteen more are coming between now and fall. If you missed the stream, here is everything that was announced.

We published a preview of what to expect before the showcase. Now that the dust has settled, let’s break down what actually showed up.

Three Games You Can Play Right Now

The biggest surprise was the number of shadow drops. Three titles are available on the eShop today.

Rotwood (Klei Entertainment)

Klei Entertainment, the studio behind Don’t Starve, shadow dropped Rotwood on Switch 2 and PC. The co-op hack-and-slash roguelike left Steam Early Access (where it launched in April 2024) and arrived as a full 1.0 release. Up to four players can team up locally or online to battle corrupted beasts across seven locations, upgrade weapons, and chase better loot. It costs $29.99 and is a Switch 2 console exclusive. Blue Prince (Dogubomb / Raw Fury)

Blue Prince was one of the best reviewed games of 2025. The puzzle adventure from developer Dogubomb and publisher Raw Fury tasks you with exploring Mt. Holly, a mansion with ever changing rooms, to find the elusive Room 46. It won a DICE Award and earned nominations at The Game Awards, the Golden Joystick Awards, and the Game Developers Choice Awards. The Switch 2 version supports mouse mode, making it a natural fit for the console’s pointer controls. It launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series in April 2025 and is now available on Switch 2.

Minishoot’ Adventures (SoulGame Studio)

Minishoot’ Adventures blends twin-stick bullet hell combat with Zelda-style open world exploration. You pilot a tiny ship through a handcrafted world, unlocking new abilities and finding secrets. The game originally launched on PC in March 2024 to strong reviews and is now available on both Switch and Switch 2.

Coming This Spring

Six more games have firm release dates between now and the end of May.

Deadzone: Rogue (Switch 2, March 17) is a sci-fi roguelite FPS that supports squad co-op and mouse mode on Switch 2.

The Midnight Walk (Switch 2, March 26) comes from Zoink, the studio behind Lost in Random. It is a dark, stop-motion-inspired adventure where you play as The Burnt One, using a companion named Potboy’s light to navigate nightmarish environments. It previously launched on PC and PS5.

Outbound (Switch + Switch 2, April 23) is an open world adventure game. A demo is available now on the eShop.

inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories (Switch + Switch 2, April 30) is a convenience store management sim where daily interactions with customers tell a larger story.

Mixtape (Switch 2, May 7) is an 80s coming-of-age road trip adventure following three friends on their final night of high school. The game leans heavily into nostalgic Stranger Things vibes and a curated soundtrack.

My Little Puppy (Switch, May 29) tells the story of a Welsh Corgi searching for its owner in the afterlife. It previously launched on PC and now comes to the original Switch.

Summer and Beyond

The back half of the showcase covered games arriving later this year.

Denshattack! (Switch 2, June 17) is a rail-grinding action platformer from developer Undercoders where you play as a train. A demo is available now.

Ratatan (Switch 2, July 16) is the spiritual successor to Patapon from the series’ original creators. The rhythm roguelite sold over 100,000 copies during its Steam Early Access period. The developers dropped the original Switch version to focus on Switch 2, citing quality concerns with the older hardware. If you enjoy roguelites, our best roguelike games in 2026 list covers the genre’s highlights.

Unrailed 2: Back on Track (Switch + Switch 2, May 2026) brings co-op train-building chaos. A demo is available now.

Heave Ho 2 (Switch + Switch 2, Summer 2026) is the sequel to the beloved physics-based friend-flinging game. It adds cooking, rocket mechanics, and online multiplayer. The Switch 2 version supports GameShare, letting friends play without owning a copy.

Woodo (Switch + Switch 2, Summer 2026) is a cozy diorama puzzle game where you assemble wooden scenes. It supports mouse mode on Switch 2.

TOEM 2 (Switch, Summer 2026) is the sequel to the charming photo adventure game.

Grave Seasons (Switch, Summer 2026) appeared in the sizzle reel.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (Switch 2, 2026) from Digital Sun blends dungeon-crawling action with shopkeeping. The sequel is currently in Steam Early Access and will launch its full 1.0 version on Switch 2 alongside PC, PS5, and Xbox later this year.

Blighted (Switch 2, Fall 2026) is a new action RPG from Drinkbox Studios, the team behind Guacamelee! and Nobody Saves the World. You fight through a psychedelic western nightmare to reclaim the memories of your people. It supports solo play and co-op.

Notable Absences

A few expected games did not appear. Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Sea of Sorrow DLC, announced in December 2025, was a no-show. Team Cherry has confirmed the free expansion for 2026 but has not given a specific release date. Mina the Hollower from Yacht Club Games also skipped the event, though the game was confirmed for a Spring 2026 release at PlayStation’s State of Play in February. Witchbrook from Chucklefish remains unannounced.

What This Tells Us About Switch 2

The showcase painted a clear picture of where indie development is heading on Nintendo hardware. The majority of games are targeting Switch 2 exclusively or alongside the original Switch. Rotwood, Blue Prince, Deadzone: Rogue, Mixtape, Ratatan, Moonlighter 2, and Blighted are all Switch 2 only. That is a significant shift from earlier reports in mid-2025 that Nintendo was not providing development kits to smaller indie teams.

The original Switch is not abandoned. My Little Puppy, TOEM 2, and Grave Seasons are Switch-only titles. Several other games like Heave Ho 2, Woodo, and Unrailed 2 support both consoles.

Switch 2’s mouse mode was a recurring theme. Blue Prince, Deadzone: Rogue, and Woodo all highlighted pointer controls as a selling point. For developers who want to reach Nintendo’s audience, our March 2026 indie games preview covers everything else launching this month.
