The first-ever Quebec Games Celebration Showcase featured 30 games from studios across the province, with Outward 2, 33 Immortals, and SurfPunk leading the lineup.

The Quebec Games Celebration just got its first dedicated showcase. On February 19, organizers Indie Asylum and La Guilde du Jeu Vidéo du Québec streamed a 30-game presentation highlighting studios from across the province. It marks a new milestone for what has become the largest regional sale on Steam, with over 300 Quebec-developed titles on sale through February 23.

The showcase aired on Steam, Twitch, and YouTube. Here are the games that stood out.

The Big Reveals

Outward 2 (Nine Dots Studio) was the headline. The sequel to the cult classic survival RPG is targeting a Summer 2026 release on PC, with console platforms to be confirmed. The original Outward carved a niche with its no-handholding approach to open-world RPG design. Co-op, seasonal world changes, and overhauled combat are all confirmed for the sequel.

SurfPunk (Double Stallion Games) pitched itself as a “surf ‘n slash” co-op extraction ARPG for up to four players. Think surfing pirates, procedurally generated islands, and anime-style action. It’s in early access on Steam now with a demo running during Steam Next Fest starting February 23.

33 Immortals (Thunder Lotus) confirmed it’s coming to Steam in Summer 2026. The 33-player co-op roguelite from the studio behind Spiritfarer has been in early access on Xbox and Epic since March 2025 and has surpassed one million players. The 1.0 launch and Steam release will happen simultaneously.

Hidden Gems Worth Watching

The showcase wasn’t all big names. Several smaller studios brought genuinely interesting projects.

Don’t Kill Them All (Fika Productions) is a turn-based strategy game where you teach orcs mindfulness. You play as a half-orc life coach helping them discover passions, navigate emotions, and build healthy relationships. It’s from the team behind Ship of Fools.

Aloft (Astrolabe Interactive, published by Funcom) is a co-op sandbox survival game set on floating islands. It celebrated its first anniversary in early access this January with over 250,000 players and just launched its Gliders & Gales update on February 12.

SCOPECREEP (Foolbox Studio), Croak (Woodrunner Games), Hillthorn (Finnegan Motors), and The Caribou Trail (Unreliable Narrators) also caught our attention during the stream.

The Full Lineup

All 30 games featured in the showcase:

A Fighter’s Nova: Mindara, Aloft, Arctic Drive, Chef of Sherwood, Clerks & Quirks, Croak, DiceVaders, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Don’t Kill Them All, Echoes of Mystralia, Happy Bastards, Hillthorn, Isles of Krom, Join Us, Lost & Found: A This Bed We Made Story, Lunchbreak Tactics, Outward 2, Pirate Chips, Rainbow Billy: The Book of Fears, Royal Vermin, SCOPECREEP, Silent Planet, Sisters of Solitude, SurfPunk, Tears of Metal, The Caribou Trail, The Melty Way, Ultimate Sheep Raccoon, Voidling Bound, and 33 Immortals.

The Bigger Picture

Quebec’s game industry punches well above its weight. The province is home to major studios like Ubisoft Montreal and Behaviour Interactive alongside a thriving indie scene fueled by incubators like Indie Asylum. The Steam sale includes established titles like The Outlast Trials (Red Barrels), Dead by Daylight (Behaviour Interactive), and Disney Dreamlight Valley (Gameloft Montreal) alongside dozens of smaller projects.

The sale runs through February 23 with discounts up to 92% on some titles. Many of the showcased games will also have free demos available during Steam Next Fest, which kicks off the same day the sale ends.
