Neva Gets a Prologue DLC This Wednesday from the Gris Developers
Nomada Studio and Devolver Digital are releasing Neva: Prologue on February 19, adding new areas, enemies, and boss fights to the Game Awards winner for $2.99.
Neva: Prologue launches this Wednesday, February 19, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch for $2.99.
The DLC comes from Nomada Studio, the Barcelona team behind Gris and the original Neva. It tells the origin story of how Alba and her wolf companion first met, filling in the events that set the main game in motion.
What the DLC Adds
Neva: Prologue introduces three new locations, each with unique gameplay mechanics. Players follow Alba as she chases a trail of white butterflies deep into corrupted swamps, where she discovers a frightened wolf cub, lost and alone. To survive, Alba must earn the cub’s trust and guide them both through blighted wetlands and the dark forces that stalk them.

New enemies and intense boss encounters round out the content. Completionists will also find five hidden challenge flowers that test mastery of the combat and platforming systems.
Nomada Studio recommends playing the Prologue after completing the main game, as it is designed to offer a deeper challenge for returning players.
Why Neva Matters
Neva launched in October 2024 and immediately established itself as one of the most visually striking games of the year. The hand painted art style evolves throughout the story as the seasons change and the world decays around Alba and her wolf.

The game won the Games for Impact award at The Game Awards 2024, recognizing its emotional storytelling and pro social themes. It holds an 87 on Metacritic with 96% positive reviews on Steam. Critics praised the bond between Alba and her wolf as one of the most affecting companion relationships in recent gaming.
Nomada Studio’s previous game, Gris, has sold over 3 million copies since its 2018 release. Neva continued the studio’s focus on wordless storytelling and striking visual design while adding more complex combat and platforming.
