Mewgenics Is Way Cheaper on G2A Right Now
Edmund McMillen's cat breeding roguelike tactics hit is available at a steep discount on G2A. If you haven't picked it up yet, now is the time.
Mewgenics has been one of the biggest indie success stories of 2026. Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel’s cat breeding roguelike tactics game launched on February 10 and immediately shot to the top of the Steam charts. It crossed one million copies sold within its first week. Critics love it too, with a Metacritic score of 88.
If you missed the launch window and the 10% launch discount on Steam, there is good news. You can grab Mewgenics right now on G2A at a significant discount compared to its $29.99 Steam price.
Why Mewgenics Is Worth Your Time
If you have not been following the game, here is the short version. Mewgenics is a roguelike tactics game where you breed cats, each with unique genetic traits and class abilities. You assemble a team of feline fighters and send them into procedurally generated dungeons filled with turn based combat encounters.

The depth is staggering. Over 1,000 unique abilities spread across 75 per class, more than 900 items, and a breeding system that makes every run feel genuinely different. It carries the same “one more run” energy that made The Binding of Isaac a genre staple, but wrapped in a completely new tactical layer.

McMillen spent over eight years developing this one. The project started back in 2012 with Tommy Refenes, was shelved, then restarted in 2018 with Tyler Glaiel handling all programming and co-design duties. That long development paid off. Our review gave it a 9/10, calling it one of the most inventive roguelikes in years.
A Deal Worth Jumping On
At full price, Mewgenics is already a solid value for the sheer amount of content packed in. At a discount on G2A, it becomes a no-brainer for fans of roguelikes, tactics games, or anything with Edmund McMillen’s name on it.
