The ID@Xbox Spring Showcase aired yesterday in partnership with IGN, packing 22 games into a 50-minute presentation. The headline? Nearly every title shown is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

After the Triple-i Initiative and Indie Live Expo earlier this month, this is the third major indie showcase in April. Xbox focused on what it does best: Game Pass value. If you subscribe, your backlog just got a lot longer.

Here is every game shown, ordered by release date.

Build decks, chain world-ending combos, and crawl through infested dungeons. If you missed the launch, this is your sign.

Developer: Don’t Nod | Platforms: Xbox, PS5, PC | Release: April 28, 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

Don’t Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange, showed off Aphelion at the showcase. It is a third-person action-adventure set on Persephone, a frozen planet at the edge of the solar system. Astronaut Ariane must rescue her partner Thomas while navigating shifting realities and tense stealth encounters.

Don’t Nod is not typically associated with ID@Xbox events, but the focused scope and original IP make Aphelion feel right at home. It launches this Tuesday.

A cozy slice-of-life game set in a small-town Japanese convenience store during the early 1990s. You stock shelves, meet regulars, and watch small moments turn into meaningful stories.

inKONBINI is the most imminent release from the showcase, launching next week. Pre-orders are open now.

Beastro

Platforms: Xbox | Release: May 21, 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

Cozy cooking meets puppet-styled dungeon crawling. Beastro has you preparing meals that provide buffs for adventurer expeditions, then sending your party into theatrical combat encounters. A strange and charming hybrid.

Echo Generation 2

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: May 27, 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

The original Echo Generation was a turn-based RPG with voxel art and Stranger Things vibes. The sequel takes a different approach. Echo Generation 2 is a sci-fi deckbuilding RPG where you play as Jack, an ordinary dad trapped in a mysterious dimension. Build decks, summon allies, and face cosmic creatures.

A playable demo is available on Steam right now.

Crashout Crew

Vapor World: Over The Mind

Vapor World key art

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: June 2026 (Game Preview) | Game Pass: Day one

A narrative-driven souls-like platformer with hand-painted art and deflection-focused combat. You explore a dream world that blurs the line between beauty and danger. The showcase demo left a strong impression for its visual style alone.

Mistfall Hunter

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: July 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

A dark fantasy PvPvE extraction RPG. Teams loot dungeons, fight through encounters, and watch their backs for rival players trying to steal the same treasure. The showcase revealed a new “bleached forest” biome that looks stunning.

If the extraction RPG trend appeals to you, Mistfall Hunter blends it with fantasy classes, talents, and gear builds.

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: July 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

The sequel to the competitive racing platformer. Up to 8 players sprint through 2D maps using grappling hooks and power-ups, all crammed onto a single screen that shrinks as players fall behind. Local couch co-op and online modes confirmed.

Kalanoro

Developer: Red Raketa Studio | Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: Summer 2026

A 3D action-adventure platformer inspired by Malagasy folklore. You form a band with lemurs and set off to defeat an evil witch threatening your island. The art direction pulls from Madagascan culture in ways you rarely see in games.

Xbox Play Anywhere supported.

Deep Dish Dungeon

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: Fall 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

A co-op dungeon survival game with cooking and crafting mechanics. You carefully journey through hand-crafted, puzzle-filled dungeons in solo or with friends. Part metroidvania, part cozy cooking sim. Xbox Play Anywhere supported.

Developer: Radical Forge | Publisher: Team17 | Platforms: Xbox | Release: Fall 2026

Party mini-golf for up to 12 players. The sequel brings moving hazards, Chaos Mode, and a custom level editor. A short but fun trailer at the showcase confirmed it doubles down on everything that made the original a fan favorite.

Screenbound

Screenbound key art

Platforms: Xbox, PC, Steam | Release: TBA | Game Pass: Day one

The most creative game in the showcase and my personal pick from the entire lineup. Screenbound asks you to control two characters simultaneously: one in a 3D real world and another in a 2D game playing on a handheld device within that world. Information from one screen informs decisions on the other. The developers call it the “first 5D platformer,” and that pitch landed.

The concept is the kind of thing that only works in a video game, and that alone makes it worth paying attention to. Xbox Play Anywhere support means you buy it once for both Xbox and PC.

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School

Escape Academy 2 key art

Developer: Coin Crew Games | Publisher: iam8bit Presents | Platforms: Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC | Release: 2026 | Game Pass: Day one

The original Escape Academy turned escape room puzzles into a full video game and nailed it. Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School goes bigger with an open-world campus and solo, online, or split-screen co-op.

The first game was already on Game Pass, so the sequel following suit makes sense.

Lofsöng

Lofsöng key art

Platforms: Xbox, PS5, PC | Release: TBA

One of the showcase’s most artistic reveals. Lofsöng is an exploration puzzle adventure set in vast brutalist landscapes shaped by deep time. Audio-based mechanics guide you through environments of stone and sound alongside a mysterious origami companion.

No release date yet, but it is one to wishlist.

Tears of Metal

Tears of Metal key art

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: TBA | Game Pass: Day one

A medieval hack-and-slash co-op roguelike. You lead a Scottish battalion to reclaim an island from invasion. The combat looks weighty, and the setting stands out in a genre dominated by fantasy dungeons. Xbox Play Anywhere supported.

There Are No Ghosts at the Grand

Developer: Friday Sundae | Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: TBA | Game Pass: Day one

A musical Lovecraftian renovation game. Restore a peaceful English hotel by day, then encounter sinister creatures by night. Friday Sundae’s debut game mixes genres in a way that is hard to pin down.

Xbox Play Anywhere supported.

Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: Open beta now | Game Pass: Day one

A co-op space exploration game set in the Astroneer universe. The focus shifts from base-building to cooperative expeditions with friends. The open beta is available right now on Steam and Xbox if you want to try it before the full launch.

Totopia

Platforms: Xbox, PC | Release: TBA | Free-to-play

A free-to-play party hub with 100+ chaotic maps, character customization, and a cozy cafe building mode. Think Fall Guys energy with a social twist. Xbox Play Anywhere supported.

Xbox Play Anywhere Takes Center Stage

Almost every game at the showcase supports Xbox Play Anywhere. Buy once, play on Xbox or PC. Combined with day one Game Pass for the vast majority of titles, Xbox is making an aggressive pitch to indie fans.

The next few months look packed. Between this showcase, the Triple-i Initiative reveals, and Indie Live Expo, April 2026 has delivered more indie announcements than most E3 years used to.

On my side, my personal favorite from the whole showcase is Screenbound. A game where you play two worlds at once on a handheld inside the game itself? That is the kind of weird I live for.
